Kimberley Piano

Kimberley Piano was founded by Director, Hayden Kuhtze, in 2018.

It developed out of the closure of the ever popular private music school – Broome Academy of Music (BAM) which Hayden was a former teacher. The School operated for 8 years and produced some successful and talented young musicians who went on to succeed at music around the state and country. Hayden felt it was important to continue to offer the town private music tuition based towards the Piano, hence, Kimberley Piano was born.

Over the last few years of living in Broome, he noticed the lack of Piano Technicians available to maintain and look after the residents Pianos here. While we live in a much harsher climate than most the country, Pianos tend to not fare as well as those down further south, so a more regular visit would be needed to help keep the pianos working well.

Hayden Kuhtze

Hayden is a qualified and experienced piano teacher, having taught in Broome since 2016. He brings fun and enjoyable experiences to all his students he has strives to help guide the young musicians of today, into the talented musicians of tomorrow.  

Hayden has been studying and playing piano since he was only 6 years old. He studied from some of the top pianists in New Zealand for classical and jazz piano and completing his examinations through the internationally recognised Trinity College Of London in Piano. Hayden has performed and toured many parts of New Zealand.

Most recently in his musical career is his endeavours in teaching, and has since found a true passion for passing down his love and experience in music and piano to others. He has strived to include a wide range of students in age and ability.

I want everyone to have the experience and love for music as I do.”

 Since starting teaching in Broome in 2016 at the Broome Academy of Music (BAM), he has since gone on to start up his own solely piano school to keep the opportunities available.
